Chattanooga Choo Choo Walking Tour  Thursday, July 30

Two Tours:  3:00 PM – 5:00PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Gathering Location: Convention Center – South Pre-function area. 

We will walk from the convention center to the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Enjoy the views of downtown Chattanooga as you walk to the historic terminal station and enjoy a 90 minute tour of the facility. The terminal has been one of Chattanooga’s most iconic attractions for over 100 years. Within the terminal, you’ll find a preserved wood burning steam locomotive open for viewing and photo ops. 

The walk to the Chattanooga Choo Choo complex will take about 15 minutes and the tour itself will take about 90 minutes. You’ll then return to the Convention Center.

Komatsu America (12:30 PM) Thursday, July 30

Gathering Location: Convention Center – South Pre-function area. 

Bus transportation is included.  Bus will begin loading at 12:30 PM. 

Komatsu is the world’s second largest manufacture of construction and mining equipment.  Komatsu’s Chattanooga manufacturing facility produces midsize hydraulic excavators and intelligent excavators, articulated dump trucks for mining and quarry, as well as some machines for the forestry market.  Approximately 525 people are employed at the Chattanooga campus. 

This tour covers the company highlights as well as fabrication and assembly of a midsize hydraulic excavator.

FMW Solutions  Thursday, July 30

Gathering Location: Convention Center – South Pre-function area. 

Bus transportation is included. Bus will begin loading at 9:30 AM. 

The tour will run from 10 AM – 12 PM.  The  tour includes bus transportation.

FMW Solutions is a railroad contractor and consulting firm offering mechanical and engineering design, diesel locomotive servicing and repair, rail operations, strategic planning support, marketing, public relations, safety compliance administration, and training, as well as alternative fuel technology and research. 

FMW is also an accomplished rail preservation resource, with expertise in the restoration and operation of historic equipment and steam locomotives. FMW provides inspection, repair, overhaul, and support services for historic railroad equipment, steam locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in this specialized field. This tour of FMW’s Soddy-Daisy facility will show a current project and require attendees to sign an NDA.
