Chickamauga Battlefield Bus Tour (8:45 AM) Tuesday, July 28
Gathering Location: Convention Center – South Pre-function area.
The tour includes a box lunch.
The bus will begin loading at 8:45 AM.
Attendees will take a bus to the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park Battlefield Visitors Center, where they will begin their tour with a 30-minute movie about the Battle of Chickamauga. Then they will have the opportunity to view the Fuller Gun Collection of over 300 long rifles from the 1500’s up to WWI, as well as visiting the visitors center souvenir shop. Afterwards they will reboard the bus and a Park Ranger will serve as a tour guide and will share the historical significance of the major battles that occurred there as the bus travels around the 5,000-acre battlefield. Next, attendees will head to Point Park atop Lookout Mountain and hear from another Park Ranger about the battles that raged on the mountainside below and overlooking Chattanooga. This tour takes approximately 5 hours.
